rabbits cavorting with fireflies

“My only desire is an intimate infusion with Nature, and the only fate I wish is to have worked and lived in harmony with her laws." Claude Monet

Fireflies are critical to a healthy ecosystem for the roles as both predator and prey. As larvae, fireflies are carnivorous, eating a variety of invertebrates, .including snails, slugs and earthworms, (and) so are beneficial to small gardens and large farms. They are also important in medical research.. Despite there benefits, they are declining likely due to habitat loss, light pollution and pesticides.
